In a bid to make the event environmentally responsible, the state government has sanctioned ₹7,500 crores for 384 sustainable development projects. To manage the massive influx of pilgrims, the Uttar Pradesh Police Department has deployed AI-powered crowd monitoring systems. These tools will provide real-time updates on crowd density and movements, enabling authorities to take swift action to avoid overcrowding. The integration of drones and surveillance cameras further enhances security and ensures smooth operations.

Innovating the pilgrim experience, the state has launched the ‘Kumbh Sah’AI’yak’ chatbot, a virtual assistant available via WhatsApp and the official Maha Kumbh mobile app. This AI-powered guide offers real-time information on festival schedules, travel routes, accommodation, and cultural events in multiple Indian languages. Pilgrims can now navigate the grand event with ease, making it more inclusive and accessible than ever before.

Focus on Sanitation and Hygiene

Sanitation remains a critical focus area for the Mela, with one sanitation worker assigned to every 10 toilets, supported by supervisory teams to ensure high standards of hygiene. Modern waste segregation units are being installed to recycle biodegradable waste efficiently, further aligning the event with sustainable goals.
